I was so excited when Kathy get in touch for her wedding florals because she had amazing style and just seemed (and is!) so so sweet. She wanted a “boho glam” look and I was here for it. We added in just touch of dried elements to bring in that bohemian vibe and then layered on romantic petals and plenty of blooms in soft neutrals, creams, and toffee, and burnt orange. The bride’s request for how she wanted her bouquet ribbon – “trailing silk ribbon *heart eye emoji”. So I tied off the bouquets with Stella Wolfe Co. ribbon. Perfect.
Kathy’s dress was a show stopper. She wore a beautiful gown by Willowby by Watters from The Modern Bride. Turns out, one of the bridal bouquet inspiration photos that I had shown her inspired her dress choice! It was an excellent choice and Kathy, you looked spectacular and were an absolute goddess. Her bridal party wore elegant hunter green dresses by Park & Fifth Co. and accessorized with assorted faux fur wraps.
I remember when the pandemic first really hit – Kathy. Matt, and myself discussed what would happen if they had to reduce their guest count. That is indefinitely what ended up happening but Kathy was dead set on her florals. Rather than completely removing floral designs – we switched it up. We reduced the amount of centrepieces for the tables and allocated that to a beautiful deconstructed arch. It served as a backdrop for their ceremony and pulled double duty behind the new couple during their intimate reception dinner.
The coziness of this rainy day was absolutely magical, especially in Ravine Vineyard’s Barrel Cellar. This space is truly a hidden little gem, tucked away on this beautiful property. We flooded the tables in the cellar with centrepieces, tapered candles and our antique candlesticks. The glow from the candles, warmth from the cellar, and wine barrels everywhere you looked was truly a wine-lover’s dream.
Side note – more grooms holding bouquets while giving kisses on the foreheads please. This photo got me! (I’m also such a sap.)
Kathy and Matt’s closest friends and family dined and danced the evening away. Memories were made in that little basement cellar. For me included! This wedding was everything that I have come to love about small, intimate, and yes – Covid weddings. This trend is one that I hope stays long after this pandemic is behind us.
Cheers and congratulations to Kathy and Matt. May you both have the most wonderful New Year!
