‘Tis the season for engagements!
Ah yes, we’re officially in engagement season until Valentine’s Day. It’s such a magical time of year isn’t it? Christmas, New Years Eve, lights, sparkle, glitter everywhere, and yes, engagements! It really is a magical time of year!
If you’re here because you’ve just gotten engaged, congratulations to you! One of the first things I did when I got engaged was, yep you guessed it! Browsed Pinterest for hours on end for wedding dress inspo. It can be pretty daunting considering there are endless amounts of beautiful wedding dresses out there in so many different styles and silhouettes. Here’s to hoping that my top wedding dress trend picks for 2019 can narrow down the search for you!
The Modern Ballgown
The ballgown is quite possibly the most popular silhouette of them all and has certainly evolved over the years. With brides embracing the minimalistic approach lately, ballgowns seem to be following suit for 2019. They’re making a huge comeback in a way that’s perfect for modern brides that are still wanting to pay homage to tradition.
All The Embellishments
Brides are becoming more and more fashion forward and brave in their dress decisions. Playing with all sorts of embellishments, such as embroidery and lace appliqués, really allows a bride to make a statement, but still be very bridal.
Pssst! I totally embraced this trend (along with a few others) for my recent nuptials this past November. Once we get our photos back, I’ll be posting all about our wedding and what I wore so stay tuned!
The intricate beading on this dress by Rue De Seine is so intriguing and I just love that it’s incorporated on the back. Usually the “wow” factor on the back of the dress is, well, a backless dress – but this is something! Also, if you’re a boho bride, check out this designer. You will die from all of your bohemian bride dreams coming true.
Sleeves – because, Meghan Markle
I still die over Meghan Markle’s, pardon me, The Duchess of Sussex’s, wedding dress. That Givenchy number still has be swooning – the straight neckline, the train, the SLEEVES! I’m here for it and so are a lot of dress designers for 2019 collections.
And then there’s variations – cap sleeves, off-the-shoulder sleeves, three quarter sleeves. There’s something to suit any bride in any season.
So those are my top picks for 2019! I hope you’re feeling inspired and a little less like you’re drowning in a pool of wedding dress inspo.

Again, if you’ve just got engaged and that’s why you’re here, congratulations again and good luck with all of your wedding planning! It can be daunting but just know that there are so many resources available to help you through the process!
